Sanshiro Jomaro, PLAWRES SANSHIRO

WOW, that was some cool show. It was aired in Saudi in the late 80's, the show was such a hit, I don't remember any show with such an impact at the time. There was that show that was aired about  2 years earlier, called Faris Al-Fata Al-shoja3, it was about a kid boxer, now, that had a great impact too, and I remember how upset all the kids were when it was taken off the air. My class had a trip to the local Radio station, we were 11 year old back then, we started grilling the guide with questions about Faris and why it was taken off the air, the poor guy just keep say "this is a TV thing, we have nothing to do with it! we are the Radio"

A very similar thing happened to Sanshiro, They stopped Airing it after episodes 26! About 18 years later, I learned that Sanshiro was 37 episodes in total, only 26 were translated to Arabic. The company that translated it, did the same with Combattler V "7'omasy" which is over 50 episodes, but only 26 were translated to Arabic, but unlike Sanshiro, episode 26 of Combattler ended well, and could pass easily for the final episode. Sanshiro's episode 26 on the other hand, did not end any thing! episode 23 ended with him winning championship of Asia, but episode 26 started something new!

Sanshiro is a story some where in the near future. Kids now are using plastic dolls for wrestling. Sanshiro has Jomaro as his champion, together they win one championship after another. Something deeper is involved, there is this lady agent called Shila Misty. We never really know who she works for, but her soul purpose was to get Sanshiro out of the ring, and man was she sexy :-p. The show has some political views, which were never referred to directly in the show, but everyone I talked to, knew what they were.
